Girls often struggle when trying to figure out how to impress a boy. They wonder how to get a boy’s attention and keep it. Is getting a boy’s attention the same as impressing him? Well, yes and no.

Impressing a boy is doing something that strikes him enough to keep the girl on his mind. However, it is not always the same thing as getting his attention. A girl can get a boy’s attention doing both positive and negative things, but to truly impress him, a girl has to go beyond some momentary shocking act. So, how does she do this? She basically has to be herself.

A girl does not need to set out to impress a boy to actually do it. Showing that she is an independent, confident girl who has her own agenda and plans and is happy with herself and her life usually does the trick. Confidence and independence trickle down into the way the girl speaks and acts, into what she wears and into what she likes. These qualities attract others to be around her and they tend to impress.

When a girl’s life is full with friends and interesting activities, it makes her more appealing to others. It also gives her plenty of topics for conversation with the boy, without having to force anything.

A boy will usually be impressed by a girl who can talk about many things because these things genuinely interest her. This means that it is not necessary to go out and become an expert on the boy’s interests. Sometimes, he will simply be more impressed by the fact that she shows an interest in his life and wants to learn about it.

Just taking the time to be a boy’s friend, to actually get to know him as he gets to know the girl, will also impress him. Friendship is very important and developing this friendship will guarantee that if a deeper relationship later develops, it is based on truth and respect. Building a friendship also allows both the boy and girl to become comfortable around each other.

Another thing that a girl can do to impress a boy is remember that boys do not like girls who try too hard. This goes as far as the way she dresses and the type of make-up she uses.

Sometimes girls think that boys will like them better if they try to be sexy. This is usually not the case. Boys tend to prefer girls who dress in the style they find most comfortable. That does not mean a girl should walk around in her pajamas and wild hair, of course, but that she should be herself in all aspects.
